Congratulations to our author, Leza Lowitz, who has just won the Asia Pacific American Librarians Association Award in Young Adult Literature for her book Jet Black and the Ninja Wind!

Compared to The Hunger Games and Twilight by The Japan Times – the book centers on Rika Kuroi, a teenage Japanese girl living in the USA and who, after her mother’s death, discovers she is the last kunoichi (female ninja) in her family. She soon learns that she must return to Japan to join a family she never knew existed, in order to fulfil her destiny as the saviour of her people.

Well done Leza! We can’t wait for the next book in the series.
