Carlo Pizzati

Carlo Pizzati is the award-winning multilingual author of ten works fiction and non-fiction and the senior Asia correspondent for la Repubblica and la Stampa. His most recent publications are the Italian novel Una linea lampeggiante all’orizzonte, the collection of short stories in English, A History of Objects, and the Italian non-fiction book La Tigre e il Drone (winner of the 2021 Gambrinus Prize).

As a political analyst and correspondent he has covered foreign politics in the United States, Latin America and Asia for over three decades. He has given lectures at NYU, Columbia, Yonsei University, Università Ca’ Foscari and La Sapienza, and has taught communication theory at the Asian College of Journalism in Chennai. He was the executive director of the Civitella Ranieri Foundation, and developed a project for affordable football shoes for Indian girls.

Carlo lives with his spouse and four dogs near a fishermen’s village in Tamil Nadu.
